Vote Hunting
To get people to participate in a poll, survey, or competition there are a few things you can do. Vote Hunting can be difficult but this site provides information about online voting and places you can create a poll or survey.
Remember the old saying about not judging a book by its cover? No one actually believes it. When making a request for votes, make sure you choose your title carefully.
3 Suggestions for a Better Title for Gathering Votes:
- provide context,
- make it useful, and
- be descriptive.
If you are aggressive about asking for votes it could backfire. Phrases like, "Vote this up to spread the word!" or "AMAZING!" tend to annoy most internet users who will not bother clicking your link or providing answers.
When linking to content, try not use a url shortener as some people will not click those links due to possible scams and virus spreading sites.
